Ashanti Douglas, popularly referred to as Ashanti was born in Glen Cove New York United States on 13 October 1980. She is a singer songwriter and actor who hails from The United States. Ashanti was discovered as an 18-year-old and was became signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. That same year she appeared on the Fat Joe's What's Luv? Also, she was featured on Fat Joe's song"What's Luv?" Her tracks Foolish (number 1) as well as What's Luv! She became the first female artist to hold the top two spots on Billboard Hot 100 in America, with Foolish at number one and What's Love?
